They met at noon

the sun was shining bright

He felt it was right!

He promised her the sun

but soon it was gone

He promised her the moon

but an eclipse came too soon

He promised her his heart beat 

himself complete

a life of love so sweet

his heart was her utter seat

his world was at her feet

 no deceit

"Just be mine", he would entreat!

promises produced at the heat

of a moment neat!

then soon...

she was left sorrowfully alone

as all turned out to be 

nothing more than a history!

mere words on a proverbial sheet!

the spec of a moment 

that would eventually flee

You walk

merely realizing 

where you would go 

the road is no longer what you know!

You carry your smile

a heavy burden that lasted for

 more than the mere while 

You cry...

the tears seem never to wipe away

the inner pain that promises to stay!

You share a moment or two

that for a second it seems true!

You care

but in truth 

you never care at all

with this inner internal fall!

Then comes a day

when you truly see

what you should see

How life is ought to be!

What would you do 

to have it all back again

softly kissed by the rays

drinking her coffee

planning her ways

to this imagination

 in thinking 

that he has it all

her body and soul

and not merely the edge
