And I had you
for a second or two
a thought beguiling
a dream bewitching
and a story untrue!
And I had you
only in my mind
a reality hard to find!
and I …
no longer miss you
just had you
between a breath or two
centuries passed
and i was never yours to the last
just a breath
you once inhaled!
tried to keep
no reward to reap
but this…
these
words
i scatter here
utterances
you hold them near!
and they slip
between your finger tips
and they wake
that sleeping giant between the rips
And I had you!
Not…
so …
true!

I'm writing this comment from thousands of miles away of my home country, when I read this poem this afternoon, it made me feel like missing home despite the evergreen all around, the snow at the top of mountains and enchanting views every where. When all these are weighed against your words, yours are always heavier
ReplyDeleteThank you for taking the time to comment here although you must be extremely busy with the wonderful views there... ;)
DeleteHeavier you say??
well, but the views around you must be prettier and more relaxing ;)
Thank you
